"Please join me this June as we observe Pride Month, recognizing the legacy of the gay rights movement and the many generations of activists who fought so hard to promote dignity, equality, and greater visibility for the LGBTQI+ community. This year’s commemoration comes at a particularly exciting time, when New York City is opening up again, and many of us will have opportunities to meet together and celebrate in person.
A number of CUNY institutions will be hosting events around the city that commemorate the history of and people instrumental to the gay rights movement. CUNY has a long history of both supporting and producing scholarship about this movement, and the University has recently launched the CUNY LGBTQI+ Hub, a centralized online repository of resources for the University’s LGBTQI+ community.

I am also very pleased to share a series of TikTok videos produced this semester by our own CUNY SPS students, in Interprofessional Perspectives in LGBTQ+ Health, a new course created and taught by Jan Kaminsky, assistant professor of nursing. I encourage you all to take some time to watch this collection of funny, compelling, and informative videos, as well as to attend some of the CUNY-wide events, as part of your own Pride Month celebrations."
Sincerely,
John Mogulescu, Dean
