Construction Worker Dies At Chelsea Site, Police Say

A construction worker died at a Chelsea building site on Monday morning, police said.

CHELSEA, NY — A construction worker died at a Chelsea construction site on Monday morning after injuring his head, police said.

It was not immediately clear how the man was injured, but police said they responded to a 911 call reporting that the man had head trauma at about 8:40 on Monday morning. The 34-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The man was working on a construction site at 61 Ninth Ave., near Chelsea Market. The building's plans indicate it will be a 10-story office building once completed.
