Shop Etsy's Massive 'Holiday Handmade' Gift Fair in Chelsea This Week

The online arts-and-crafts behemoth is going IRL at the Chelsea Market, just in time for Christmas.

CHELSEA, NY — There are certain advantages to Etsy, the internet's No. 1 arts-and-crafts marketplace, being headquartered right here in NYC. The most festive and handy of them being the annual "Holiday Handmade Cavalcade" — a weeklong homemade gift fair in which a rotating roster of around 60 craft sellers hawk their wares along the airy aisles of the Chelsea Market.

Etsy's 2016 fair will run from Monday, Dec. 5, through Sunday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Chelsea Market is located on 9th Avenue between 15th and 16th streets.

More than 16,000 shoppers showed up last year, according to organizers — so be sure to RSVP for the least stressful experience, and to avoid the $2 entry fee. There's also a pretty awesome-sounding event called Sip 'n' Shop sponsored by the Brooklyn Brewery — yes, it involves free booze — scheduled for Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.
