Food Network Star Carl Ruiz Opens Cuban Restaurant In Meatpacking
Carl Ruiz opens La Cubana in the Meatpacking District.
MEATPACKING DISTRICT, NY — Celebrity chef Carl Ruiz opened up a new Cuban eatery in the Meatpacking District this week.
The Food Network star opened the new eatery, La Cubana, on Thursday located at 408 W. 15th St. between Ninth and 10th avenues.
The eatery will feature Caribbean cocktails, live Latin music and a variety of Cuban eats, including fire roasted calabaza, or pumpkin, empanadas, and a steak simmered in Cuban creole sauce.

La Cubana is open Monday through Saturday 5 to 11 p.m.
A live-music weekend brunch will begin this fall, according to the restaurant.
