Google Employee Died Of Abnormal Heart Rhythm: Medical Examiner
The 22-year-old Google engineer died in the tech company's Chelsea offices late last year.

CHELSEA — A Google engineer who was found lifeless in the tech company's Chelsea offices late last year died due to an irregular heartbeat, the city's Medical Examiner announced Friday.
The 22-year-old engineer, Scott Krulcik, was found dead at his desk on the sixth floor at 111 Eighth Ave. near West 16th St. at about 9 p.m. on Dec. 7, 2018.
The city's Medical Examiner determined Krulcik died of natural causes due to an abnormal heart rhythm from a genetic issue.

"This young man died of an abnormal heart rhythm, which developed due to a genetic abnormality in an ion channel of the heart (also known as 'cardiac channelopathy')," Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Barbara Sampson said in a statement.
The Saratoga Springs, NY native joined Google in May 2016 as an intern. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon in May 2018 with a computer science degree.

Krulcik lived in the West Village. He enjoyed hiking in the Adirondack Mountains and downhill skiing, his personal website said.
