Man Snatches Woman's Necklace While At Traffic Light: NYPD
A man snatched a 79-year-old woman's necklace from her while she was sitting in a car at a traffic light, the NYPD said.
CHELSEA, NY — A man snatched a necklace from a 79-year-old woman while she was sitting inside of a car at a traffic light, the NYPD said.
The woman sat in the passenger side of the car with the window rolled down waiting at a red light on West 17th Street and Sixth Avenue on Sept. 14 about 3:30 p.m., police said.
A man then walked up to the car and reached in, ripping her necklace off, police said.

Police said she suffered neck and ear injuries.
Cops are searching for two people involved, the necklace-snatcher and someone who appeared to be a lookout who was walking with the thief, the NYPD said.

Video surveillance released by the NYPD show the man who snatched the necklace wearing a beige jacket and blue jeans. The suspected lookout was wearing a red long-sleeve shirt, red sneakers, dark pants and a beige hat, the video shows.
Police said the two are approximately 40- to 45-years-old.
