New Jersey Man Admits to Pushing Friend Onto Manhattan Subway Tracks
A drunken night turned into a near-death experience Sunday morning in Chelsea, cops say.

CHELSEA, MANHATTAN, NY — A young man from New Jersey was arrested Monday morning after allegedly admitting to pushing his friend onto the subway tracks at the 18th Street-Seventh Avenue Station in Chelsea, according to the New York City Police Department (NYPD).
Aaron Clary, 25, of Newark, New Jersey, turned himself over to the NYPD's Manhattan Transit Squad on Monday, police said — one day after a drunken night turned into a near-death experience.
Clary and his friend, both intoxicated, were standing on the subway platform shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday morning, police said, when Clary pushed his friend onto the tracks just as a northbound 2 train was arriving to the station.

The victim, 54, became lodged under the train, where he suffered a contusion to his head and a laceration to his foot, police said. However, he remained "alert" throughout the traumatic episode, and was transported in one piece to Bellevue Hospital.
Clary has since been charged with attempted manslaughter and assault, according to the NYPD.
