Yayoi Kusama's Inventive NYC Art Exhibit In Photos

Don't want to wait in line? Here's a (small) sampling of Yayoi Kusama's wildly popular art exhibit in New York.

CHELSEA, NY — There's just a few weeks left of of the artist Yayoi Kusama's new art exhibits in New York City, and dedicated fans are waiting for hours to a chance to snap a photo with her memorable installations.

Kusama's exhibits are currently split between the two buildings of the David Zwirner Gallery: one at 525 and 533 W. 19th St. in Chelsea and at 34 E. 69th St. in the Upper East Side.

In Chelsea, the gallery is displaying Kusama's "Festival of Life" exhibit, which includes two Infinity Mirror Rooms in addition to Kusama's paintings and sculptures.The Chelsea display is drawing lengthly lines. The Zwirner gallery has cautioned guests that they should expect to wait in line between two and four hours or more if they want to get inside to snap a pic. The Upper East Side gallery is housing her "Infinity Net" exhibit, the gallery said. Both exhibits will close on Dec. 16. Kusama is an internationally recognized artist who has more recently become an Instagram-darling thanks to her immersive and colorful art installations. Her exhibit in Chelsea is so popular that the gallery has taken to Twitter to warn visitors if the wait time is more than two hours.
