Suspicious Package Near Penn Station Is Just Trash, Police Say

Cops responded to a possible suspicious package Wednesday morning, later determining it was trash, the NYPD said.

MIDTOWN, NY — A possible suspicious package near Penn Station turned out to be trash, according to the NYPD.

Cops got a 911 call about a suspicious package at West 31st Street and Seventh Avenue about 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, an NYPD spokesperson said.

The package was deemed safe after NYPD Special Ops discovered it was "discarded property."
