Tallest Observation Deck In NYC Is Being Built Right Now
Once completed, the observation deck at 30 Hudson Yards will be the highest in the Western Hemisphere.

CHELSEA, NY — The highest observation deck in the Western Hemisphere is coming to Manhattan, with construction beginning this week for the new building that will offer dizzying views.
Construction began on 30 Hudson Yards, the building that will eventually be home to the observation deck, on Tuesday. Once completed, the observation deck will be the fifth highest observation deck in the world and the highest in the Western Hemisphere.

The deck will stand 1,000 feet into the air, extending from the 100th floor at 30 Hudson Yards. The building thre will ultimately stand 1,296 feet tall and will be the second-tallest office building in New York City.

The open-air deck will include a massive window in its floor so that viewers can look directly down onto the neighborhood below. In addition to viewing space, the deck will include a restaurant, bar and event space.
The observation deck is scheduled to open in late 2019, developers said.

The building at 30 Hudson Yards is part of the massive new development project creating a brand new neighborhood on the West Side of Manhattan.
