CHELSEA, NY — Tattoo lifestyle magazine "Inked" will open a retail shop and tattoo shop in Chelsea this October, the firm representing the media brand announced.
"Inked," of Quadra Media, will open an 8,500-square-foot space for an art gallery, tattoo studio, and retail shop on the ground floor and lower level at 150 West 22nd St. between Sixth and Seventh avenues, Lee & Associates NYC announced Friday.
It will be the first retail location for the tattoo lifestyle company. The magazine was launched in 2004, reaching some 1.2 million readers, according to a release.

"Experiential, multi-purpose retail is the direction in which the entire industry is moving and this new Inked location combines numerous creative uses in one exciting and innovative space," said Dennis Someck, who represented the tenant with Justin Myers, both of Lee & Associates.
The art space will feature pieces from $2,500 to $10,000 and the retail shop will feature Inked merchandise and other artsy finds.

Inked will move in in October. The asking rent was $108 per square foot, Lee & Associates said in a release.
The 10-year lease in a "central location will render it both a destination for tattoo and art lovers as well as a space that will receive a high level of foot traffic, making it a stop for spontaneous visitors as well," Someck said.
