CHELSEA, NY — Piling work began at the twisty, glassy, new building at 76 Eleventh Ave. this week, according to YIMBY New York. The monstrosity will be a modern presence between West 17th and 18th streets, expected to be completed in 2019.
The building, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), will rise to 25 and 35 stories for each tower, 302 and 402 feet above ground, respectively, according to the developer, HFZ Capital Group. There will be 310 residential units (mixed use), averaging 2,258 square feet for each one. The first four levels will be 181,893 square feet of commercial space.
