Veggie Grill Opens First NYC Location In The Flatiron District

The New York City location is Veggie Grill's 37th location across the country.

FLATIRON DISTRICT, NY — A plant-based fast casual restaurant is opening its first location in New York City on Friday.

Veggie Grill is coming to the Flatiron District at 12 W. 23rd St. near Fifth Avenue with a grand opening set for Friday morning.

"We are thrilled to bring handcrafted 100% plant-based food to New Yorkers that share our belief around making food matter more," chief executive officer Steve Heeley said in a statement.

The fast casual spot is the 37th location across the country. It offers veggie burgers, Mediterranean salads and others dishes as a part of a seasonal menu that changes four times a year.

The 2,000-square-foot space in the Flatiron is open Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Opening day profits will be donated to GrowNYC, according to an announcement from the restaurant.

"We can't wait to share our chef-inspired dishes with this great city as we continue our east coast expansion delivering affordable and delicious plant-based meals to conscious consumers," Heeley said.
