VIDEO: Chelsea Slashing Victim Tries To Fight Off Knifeman During Vicious Attack
Police are still searching for the man who repeatedly slashed another person in Chelsea on Thursday night.
CHELSEA, NY — A vicious daytime slashing in Chelsea was caught on surveillance video that shows the victim grappling with a knifeman who was slashing at his face in an apparently random attack.
Police released the video and images of the man who was still on the loose after sprinting from the scene Thursday evening.
The attacker lunged at the unnamed 27-year-old from between two parked cars on West 29th Street, near Seventh Avenue, at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, police said. He slashed his victim repeatedly in the face, arms and back before running away.

No motive was given by police.

Blood was seen covering the sidewalk in front of a store called Modern Store Fixtures & Design Inc. Thursday evening.

The attacker is said to be about 20 and 25 years old and was wearing a blue shirt, blue sweatpants, red sneakers and black gloves.
