Woman Killed By Pickup Truck On 6th Ave In Chelsea, Police Say
A woman, 67, was crossing the street less than a block from her home when she was fatally struck by a pickup truck, cops said.
CHELSEA, NY — Another person was killed on Sixth Avenue in Chelsea, according to police.
Melissa McClure, 67, died Tuesday after being hit by a truck Saturday just after 9 p.m. at West 15th Street and Sixth Avenue, less than a block from her home, the NYPD said Friday.
McClure and another woman, 59, were crossing West 15th Street north to south on the crosswalk, when the driver of a blue 2011 Chevrolet Silverado hit both of them while turning left onto 15th Street from Sixth Avenue, knocking them to the road, police said.

The two women were rushed to Bellevue Hospital. The 59-year-old woman was treated for cuts on the back of her head, but police said she was in stable condition.
The 67-year-old was in critical condition with head injuries before dying three days later, police said.

The driver, a 32-year-old man, remained at the crash, cops said.
No arrests have been made.
Cops did not answer further questions, including if the driver turned on a red or green light. The NYPD said the investigation remains ongoing.
There have been two other fatal crashes on Sixth Avenue. Eight blocks north at West 23rd Street and Sixth Avenue a cyclist was killed by a truck and a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash with a cyclist. A slew of other injuries have been reported on Avenue of the Americas, including a cyclist with a foot injury and two different Citi Bike riders.
