The Children’s Medical Fund of New York Supports Local Hospital
Commack's Nisen Sushi prepared lunches for the dedicated staff at the Cohen Children's Medical Center

The Children’s Medical Fund of New York (CMFNY) has been rooted in the community since its inception in 1966 and has continued to offer philanthropic support to the Cohen Children’s Medical Center, its staff, patients, and families, recognizing the importance of lending a helping hand.
Amid COVID-19 the Fund continues to fulfill its mission by coordinating deliveries of meals from local restaurants to the dedicated medical staff at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center Blumenfeld Pavilion.
The Fund recently coordinated a meal delivery from Commack’s Nisen Sushi to the healthcare professionals working in the Blumenfeld Pavilion, the home of the Rudolph Emergency Department, Long Island’s only pediatric facility.

“The heroic efforts the staff at Cohen Children’s Medical Center have demonstrated throughout these very trying times is unprecedented,” said David Blumenfeld, Chairman, Children’s Medical Fund of New York. “We are so grateful for all they do and honored that we can bring a little relief to their challenging days.”
Howard Tanney, President, Children’s Medical Fund of New York added, “At CMFNY we’re constantly looking for new ways to support the Cohen Children’s Medical Center staff, patients and their families throughout the year especially during this very difficult time. We are honored to provide meals and say ‘thank you’ and ‘we’re thinking of you’ as the staff – our front line heroes – work 24 hours a day 7 days a week to keep us safe.”
