Commack High School To Close For Parkland 'Silent Memorial Walk'

The school will not permit students to sign in or out of the building during the walk on Wednesday morning.

COMMACK, NY - Commack High School will be planning a "silent memorial walk" on Wednesday morning to honor the lives lost in the Parkland, Florida shooting last month.

The district announced that as a result, the high school campus will be closed from 9:40 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.

During this time, students will not be permitted to sign in or sign out of the building. In addition, visitors will not have access to the building or school grounds during this time.

Students will be closely supervised, and there will be a significant security presence to ensure their safety. Students who do not participate in the memorial walk will remain in class with no interruption to instruction.
