The Suffolk County Water Authority will be conducting water flow tests at various hydrant locations beginning in March. During testing, residents may notice temporary rust-like water conditions. This is performed to check for proper function and to remove potential sediments that may have accumulated within the pipes. This is a proactive measure in safeguarding the highest of water quality.

As we get closer to the rainy season, the Highway Department will be conducting sump cleanup work throughout the township. It began sump cleanup at Delmar Lane, including the removal of litter, trimming overgrown brush, removing broken tree limbs and other debris from the area.

National Grid is conducting minor road work along Old Willets Path and Route 454. This may cause minor road delays in the area. Residents may wish to take alternate routes during peak travel hours for the next two weeks.

Flynn Memorial Ballpark construction is moving full-steam ahead. The synthetic turf was delivered and the Town is just about ready to begin laying it out. Not only will this state-of-the-art turf (with a built-in drainage system underneath) be much better for the environment, but ballplayers will now be able to enjoy more playtime after a rainfall. The Parks Department and contractors have done extraordinary work through the mild winter, the Town said.
