Commack Scholar Athletes Honored By Town Of Huntington

These seniors excel in both academics and athletics.

The Town of Huntington recently honored 20 local high school seniors who excel in both academics and athletics.

Two athletes, a boy and a girl, were selected by each local school to be honored at the annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Board meeting on Tuesday, May 9.

Town Board members read biographies for each athlete during the ceremony.

The following student-athletes were honored:

  • Cold Spring Harbor High School: Ezra Brody, Caitlin Hooks
  • Commack High School: Jason Salerno, Amanda Kurz
  • Elwood John Glenn High School: Anthony Aromolo, Samantha Ciappa
  • Half Hollow Hills East High School: Alex Park, Julia Pascarella
  • Half Hollow Hills West High School: Jovahn Williamson, Emily Chong
  • Harborfields High School: Nicholas Godfrey, Casandra Moisanu
  • Huntington High School: Lawrence Leake, Ryann Gaffney
  • Northport High School: Shawn Weigand, Emilie Reynolds
  • St. Anthony’s High School: Cole Orent, Shannon Boyle
  • Walt Whitman High School: Vincent Pastore, Shelbi Wuss

The Town Board also thanked Reinwalds Bakery and Bon Bons Chocolatier for providing refreshments following the ceremony.
