The Commack School District has closed schools for Thursday and Friday, after damages from Hurricane Sandy left much of the community without power.
The closure means Commack will have been closed all week due to the destructive superstorm.
At last check on Wednesday, the Long Island Power Authority is reporting 12,705 outages in Commack.
