Commack Whole Foods Sneak Peek
Get an inside look at the new space before it opens tomorrow morning.
COMMACK, NY - The brand new Whole Foods in Commack is preparing for its grand opening Wednesday morning.
The latest store for the popular supermarket chain is located on 120 Veterans Memorial Highway. Doors will open at 9 a.m.
Opening day celebrations will include complimentary coffee and breakfast pastries starting at 8 a.m. The first 200 customers through the doors will receive a reusable canvas shopping bag.

The 45,000 square-foot Commack store has many unique features. According to a Whole Foods spokesperson, "no 2 stores are the same." Many local products will be sold at the store, which will be specifically marked with "local" signs.

- a produce department with fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables from regional growers such as Gotham Greens, D’Ottavio Farms and Satur Farms
- an expansive in-house bakery offering a full line of scratch-made breads and rolls, cakes and self-serve baked goods, including items for special diets and local products from Pride-Enjoy and By The Way Bakery
- full-service butcher department featuring sausage, beef and pork options from area suppliers such as Bilinski Sausage and Briarwood Pork
- seafood department with unique locally-sourced offerings, including smoked salmon from Catsmo Artisan Smokehouse and Star of the Sea crab cakes
- specialty foods section with a variety of local snack items and an extensive selection of cheeses overseen by an in-store Certified Cheese Professional, including cheeses from Cochran Farms and 5 Spoke Creamery
- coffee and juice bar featuring in-house roasted coffee and juices on tap
- in-store Alkaline water dispenser, "make your own" salad dressing machine, and Once Upon a Farm refrigerated baby food cooler
- prepared foods section with hot and cold food bars, including a salad bar, soup wells, self-serve square pizza, Kikka sushi, a noodle bar and made-to-order sandwiches
- beauty and body care department offering local products from Birch and Main, Lux Naturals and Bogavia Skincare
- expansive selection of beer featuring local producers, such as LIC Beer Project and Barrier Brewing
- 142 bins of bulk scoop items, including four types of grind-your-own nut butters a wide assortment of candy from Dylan’s Candy Bar
In addition, the Commack location will feature Pizza Parlor, an in-store, fast-casual eatery which will offer a menu of fresh pizza, antipasti, as well as hearth-roasted main and side dishes.
To celebrate the grand opening, the store will be donating 5 percent of net sales on Wednesday, April 10 to the Association for Mental Health and Awareness in support of its Chemical Free Garden, which provides fruit, vegetables and herbs to local food pantry Charlotte’s Table.
Then on Thursday, April 18, the store will donate 5 percent of the net sales to the Family Service League, which provides social services to more than 50,000 individuals in need throughout Suffolk County.
Many are already excited for the new store.
"We hope there will be a big line outside," the Whole Foods spokesperson said.
