Town of Huntington's Movies on the Lawn Program continues Thursday.

The Town of Huntington’s Movies on the Lawn Program continues with three more Drive-In movie showings.

“Big Hero 6”

  • Thursday, July 23 at Crab Meadow Beach
  • Big Hero 6 is an animated adventure about the special bond that develops between an inflatable robot Baymax, and prodigy Hiro Hamada, who team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech superheroes.
  • Rain date is Thursday, Aug. 6

  • Thursday, July 30 at Crab Meadow Beach
  • There’s still time to sign-up for the Town’s FOURTH Annual Sand Castle Contest that will be held before the July 30 showing of “Raiders.” The contest is open to Town of Huntington residents. Two winners, one for each age group, will receive a gift certificate to LaCasa Café. Gates to Crab Meadow Beach will open at 4 p.m. for those registered in the Sand Castle Contest.

Vote on the final movie:

The last movie of the summer will be shown at Peter Nelson Park in Huntington Station on Monday, Aug. 17.

The Town of Huntington is asking residents to vote for which movie will be shown. The three movie choices are:

  • “Cinderella” (2015 edition)
  • “Frozen”
  • “Maleficent”

Vote here. The deadline to vote is Thursday, July 23. The winning title will be announced before the drive-in showing of “Big Hero 6” at Crab Meadow Beach.

All movies kick off between 8:30 and 9 p.m. Remember to arrive early and to pack lawn chairs and blankets. Overflow parking is available and bus service brings people and their belongings to the beach.

“This is great family entertainment. Pack up your picnic supper, blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy this summer’s movie line-up,” said Councilman Mark Cuthbertson.
