Fourth Annual Crab Meadow Beach Sand Castle Contest to Kick off Wednesday

Are you exceptionally good at making sand castles? Show off your skills at this upcoming contest.

After rainy days and cancellations, the Fourth Annual Sand Castle Contest lives on. It has been rescheduled for Wednesday at Crab Meadow Beach.

“The Sandcastle Contest provides something fun for everyone to do at the beach and it’s always exciting to see what kind of sand sculptures our local artists will come up with next,” Councilman Mark Cuthbertson said.

This popular summer contest kicks off at 4 p.m. and the judging begins at 7 p.m.

The contest is open to Huntington residents in two age categories: ages 16 and under and ages 17 and up. Contestants can compete by themselves or in groups. Register here.

Contestants are encouraged to bring out their creative sides during this contest. They will be allowed to use additional materials to accessorize their sand castles as long as the materials are environmentally friendly.
