Huntington Arts Council To Feature Work of Local Students

The opening reception is Feb. 13.

The Huntington Arts Council will feature the artwork of local students in grades 11 and 12 in the organization’s Journey program, with an awards ceremony at the opening reception on Feb. 13 from 6-8 p.m.

Journey is the art council’s multicultural arts-in-education program. This year, Commack, Harborfields, Huntington, Northport-East Northport, Plainview Old Bethpage and South Huntington are participating.

The exhibit is on display through March 2.

Established in 1985, Journey was created by the arts council in partnership with local school districts to integrate cultural arts into classroom curriculum. The program aims to foster appreciation of cultural diversity through the arts.
