LI Rehab Center Celebrates 100th Coronavirus Recovery: WATCH
The 100th coronavirus patient was discharged from Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation on Friday.

COMMACK, NY — Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center marked the 100th of its patients and residents who successfully recovered from the coronavirus, as Annette Maro, 71, of Huntington Station, was discharged from the Commack facility on Friday, the center said in a news release. Gurwin staff escorted her to the front door where she was placed into an ambulette to take her home.
"I’m ready to go!" Maro shouted as she waved to the applauding nurses and staff who cared for her since she was admitted to Gurwin in March. Nurses held signs reading "Be Well Annette" and "#GurwinStrong."

Maro also placed a paper heart bearing her name on the Gurwin "Recovery Wall" in the lobby, a reminder to healthcare workers of the important work they do on a daily basis.
Since the start of the pandemic, Gurwin has treated both residents of the nursing and rehabilitation facility as well as COVID-19 hospital patients admitted under Gov. Andrew Cuomo's mandate to accept and treat anyone suitable for nursing home care, regardless of COVID status, Gurwin stated.
