Local Elementary School Principal Announces Retirement

After 15 years on the job, the local principal announced she will be retiring at the end of the year.

DIX HILLS, NY - The principal of a Commack school district elementary school recently announced that she will be retiring at the end of the school year.

Janet Studley will be retiring after 15 years as principal of Rolling Hills Primary School in Dix Hills, the school district announced last week.

"We wish her many happy years gardening, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family," a message on the school's website read. "She is a beloved leader in Commack, with endless energy and a warm and ready smile. Her attention to every detail has provided her students and staff with a safe and nurturing environment that fosters learning and growth. Each child feels special in her care. We sincerely thank her for her devotion to our youngest students, to her colleagues, and to the families in the community."

In a letter to the community, Studley called it an "honor and privilege" to work as principal of the local school.
