Lords of 52nd Street Benefit Concert for Marty Lyons Foundation

Billy Joel's original band, The Lords of 52nd Street, is holding a special benefit concert benefiting The Marty Lyon Foundation on Nov 2.

Commack, NY; October 28, 2019 –Days before a special benefit concert for the Marty Lyons Foundation, Marty Lyons introduced Richie Cannata, saxophone player from the Lords of 52nd Street – Billy Joel’s original band, to wish children Shaun and Kevin Carroll of Commack. The two brothers both have received wishes from The Marty Lyons Foundation. The Foundation grants wishes for children diagnosed with terminal or life-threatening illnesses between the ages 3 to 17.

Mr. Cannata and his fellow Lords of 52nd Street bandmates will be performing at a special benefit concert hosted by Q104’s Gerry Martire on Saturday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville. Opening the event will be Long Island comedian Bob Nelson. Also appearing will be singer/songwriter Lisa Itts. Tickets are currently on sale for $50, $75 and $150 ($150 tickets include a VIP meet and greet which begins at 6:30 pm) and are available through the Marty Lyons Foundation website: www.martylyonsfoundation.org.

“This concert is the first of its kind for the Foundation and promises to be a fun-filled evening of musical entertainment and laughter. We have many children who want their special wishes to granted. This event will help us provide those wishes and create important memories for families. We encourage all Long Islanders to support this event and our mission,” said Marty Lyons, Founder of the Marty Lyons Foundation, who is a resident of Smithtown.

Lyons, founder of the Marty Lyons Foundation, is a former NFL star for the New York Jets and a member of the legendary New York Sack Exchange. The Foundation was created in 1982 and has granted over 7,800 wishes.
