Next Snow Chance Emerges In Long Island Forecast

If you can, get out and enjoy Saturday as temperatures will likely hit 50 degrees and there will be an abundance of sunshine. After Saturday, the weather becomes very unsettled for the next few days and we could see periods of heavy rain Sunday and there is a chance for some snow on Monday and Tuesday.

The National Weather Service is placing odds of snow Monday night and Tuesday at between 30-40 percent as of right now.

"For the Sunday night into Tuesday time frame, the overall forecast confidence is low," the NWS New York office said in a forecast discussion.

The full forecast:

Thursday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 14. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Friday- Sunny, with a high near 35. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the morning.

Friday Night- Mostly clear, with a steady temperature around 32. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. South wind 7 to 10 mph.

Saturday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Wind chill values between 20 and 30 early. Southwest wind 11 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Saturday Night- A 50 percent chance of rain after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Southwest wind 9 to 16 mph.

Sunday- Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 49. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunday Night- A 30 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Monday- A 40 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 43.

Monday Night- A chance of rain and snow before midnight, then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tuesday- A 30 percent chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 34.

Tuesday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 18.

Wednesday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 34.
