About Us
Atlantic Counter Trafficking (ACT) is a private intelligence nonprofit based out of Long Island, New York. We are dedicated to ending Human Trafficking in the United States, starting in our home communities of Long Island and New York City. Both Long Island and New York City have been consistently ranked as one of the largest hubs for Human Trafficking in the United States. We are talking top 5 nation wide. Human Trafficking is one of the fastest and largest growing illegal industry's in the world, generating upwards of $150 Billion annually. We must come together as a community to help combat these heinous crimes.

Let's Define the Problem:
What is Human Trafficking? Human Trafficking, which is also referred to as Modern Day Slavery, involves the "use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act.", as defined by the United Nations. In other words, it is when people take advantage of those who are vulnerable and force the sale of their bodies for sex or labor in order to make a profit. These fear tactics are most commonly used on our women and children, with the majority ranging from the ages 12-14 years old.

ACT has assembled a team of decorated retired Law Enforcement Officers and active/veteran Military Special Operations personnel to hunt down Human Trafficking networks. Our goal is to gather information on these criminal networks operating out of our communities and pass actionable information to Law Enforcement, such as the Suffolk County Police Department, so they can make/warrant the arrests. We are working to establish and maintain a process that will ensure the safety of our children, our friends, and our families. As members of our community, we want to help identify and bring attention to these people actively engaging in evil. We never want you to have to experience it.

Human Trafficking is the fastest growing criminal activity in the United States. Traffickers have taken to the internet to identify and "groom" their victims during the pandemic's lockdowns. In an age where nearly every High School student has an iPhone or iPad, they are easy targets for traffickers, as teenagers will share just about anything to the internet. The danger of this is that traffickers operate based on force, fraud, or coercion. All they need to do is identify a weakness and they are able to exploit it.

Our Approach
Some of the things you can do to help protect our community's children is to protect their internet presence. You can achieve this by ensuring their online social media accounts are private, so people they don't know can't see what they share. Be sure to have a conversation about not answering messages from people they don't know or know of. We would also recommend that their profile pictures are not seductive or provocative, since traffickers may initially target someone based off their appearance or how they present themselves. In order for us to best do our jobs, we are always looking to further integrate with Law Enforcement, Aftercare Organizations, and our local communities. As mentioned prior, we have the capability's to hunt Human Traffickers online through our own personal network and software's. We implore you to drop us a line if you have have questions and or pertinent information on any past, present, and future occurrences. We also conduct interviews with inmates and survivors of Human Trafficking to obtain information crucial information. As always these individuals remain anonymous. Their identity's will not be made public.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Stay Safe & Healthy,

...and remember, be the change you want to see in the world. #ACTNow
