Police: Greenlawn Man Drove Drunk With His Two Kids in Car

The 52-year-old was arrested on Sunrise Highway Sunday night, police say.

A Greenlawn man faces a felony DWI charge after police say he drove drunk with his two children in his car Sunday night.

According to State Police, a trooper from the Riverside Barracks stopped a black GMC Acadia for failure to move left for an emergency vehicle on westbound Sunrise Highway in Manorville at 11:05 p.m.

While interviewing the vehicle‘s driver, 52-year-old Mark Sidoti, the trooper detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage, police said.

Sidoti failed sobriety tests and was arrested, police said.

Sidoti’s wife and their two children–ages 12 and 9–were inside the vehicle at the time, police said.

Sidoti is charged with felony aggravated DWI (Leandra’s Law) and a traffic violation. He was held overnight for arraignment in Southampton Town Justice Court on Monday morning.
