SAT Testing at Commack High School

Students are reminded to bring photo identification, two No. 2 pencils and a calculator.

It's a nerve-wrecking day in Commack as students take the SAT at the High School.

The SAT exam is a three part aptitude test that consists of a math, reading and writing section. Students will also take SAT subject test, that may be required for college admission.

The SAT is made up of 10 sections with a total test time of 3 hours and 45 minutes.

It includes:

  • A 25-minute essay
  • Six 25-minute sections (mathematics, critical reading and writing)
  • Two 20-minute sections (mathematics, critical reading and writing)
  • A 10-minute multiple-choice writing section
Most college applications are not complete until official scores from the SAT and SAT Subject Tests are sent to the colleges. Once can do this by logging on to: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/scores.html.

For students who wish to better their scores after today's test, Commack High School will be offering Kaplan test preparation classes, starting in November for the March 8 exam. Click here for more information.
