Signs On Local Roads Commemorate Local History

A historical marker on Kings Park rd.at Indian Head rd. explains the Jewish Agricultural Society trained Jewish immigrants in agriculture

on the Indian Head Farm until the early 1900s. In fact the land on which Burr rd. school sits was a cabbage farm.

A new historical marker sign on Old Northport rd. and Indian Head rd. explains the Howard Orphange was located there. It cared for and trained African-American young people in agriculture as well.
