Students at Commack Middle School aren't being couch potatoes after enjoying their Thanksgiving feasts.
The physical education department held a one-mile Turkey Trot Dec. 4 at the school's track.
About 50 students and faculty members rook part in the event, which celebrated fitness and health.
Another run is planned for Valentine's Day to promote the district's new three-'R's' motto: respect, responsibilities and relationships.
