1 Dead In 4-Car Crash In Deer Park

The chain-reaction collision on Thursday night left one man dead and injured two others.

DEER PARK, NY β€” A man was killed in a four-car crash in Deer Park Thursday night, according to Suffolk police.

The man, driving a 2021 Toyota Camry, and a 45-year-old Greenlawn woman driving a 2001 Honda Accord, were stopped at a red light on Grand Boulevard facing eastbound when a 2009 Mazda, driven by an 18-year-old Valley Stream man, hit both cars from behind at 10:37 p.m., police said.

The crash forced all three cars into the intersection, where they were struck by a 2020 Nissan Sentra being driven by a 32-year-old Melville man, southbound on Deer Park Avenue, police said.

The collision forced the Toyota across Deer Park Avenue and off the roadway.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Honda was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Mazda was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Nissan was not injured.

The cars were all impounded for safety checks.
