Three $50K Lottery Tickets Sold On Long Island

While there were no New York winners for the massive $731 million jackpot, three lucky people still won the $50,000 third prize.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY β€” While there were no local winners for the enormous $731 million Powerball jackpot, three lucky people won $50,000 third-place prizes on Long Island in Wednesday's drawing.

According to the New York Lottery, the three winning Powerball tickets were sold in Suffolk County at these stores: Suburban Gas Mart on Suburban Avenue in Deer Park; Hawkins Wine and Liquor on Hawkins Avenue in Ronkonkoma; and a 7-Eleven on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station.

Those three winners were among 13 in New York to win a $50,000 prize. No winning first- or second-place prize tickets were sold in New York.

However, one very lucky person in Maryland won the $731 million jackpot. In addition, 12 people in California, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, New Jersey and Oregon won the $1 million second-place prize.

The winning numbers for the Jan. 20 drawing were 40, 53, 60, 68 and 69. The Powerplay number was 22.

The Powerball jackpot reset back to $20 million. The Mega Millions jackpot is now close to $1 billion. A Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million was sold on Long Island last week.

The next Mega Millions drawing is Friday.
