77 Deer Park High School Students Recognized as AP Scholars

The students all received award certificates and their achievements will be noted in the AP score reports sent out to colleges.

77 Deer Park High School students were recognized as AP Scholars for 2013 by the College Board, an increase of nine since last year.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers several levels of awards honoring students who demonstrate college-level achievement through AP courses and exams. The exams are graded on a scale of 1 to 5, with a score of 3 or higher qualifying students for college credit.

Each of the students recognized received an award certificate and their achievements will be noted in the AP score reports sent to prospective colleges.

Six Deer Park students are National AP Scholars, a title reserved for students who received an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

The school also boasts 14 AP Scholars with Distinction, a title bestowed to students who received an average score of at least 3.5 on their exams and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams; seven AP Scholars with Honor, whose average score was at least 3.25 on all of their exams and 3 or higher on four or more of those exams; and 56 AP Scholars, who received scores of 3 or higher on three or more exams.
