8-Month-Old Girl Dies From Injures In Hit-And-Run Crash

The overturn crash occurred on Davidson Street in Wyandanch Sunday night, according to Suffolk police.

WYANDANCH, NY β€” An 8-month-old baby girl has died from her injuries sustained in a hit-and-run crash on Long Island Sunday night, police said.

Saige Berry was in a 2006 Nissan Murano that was traveling eastbound on Davidson Street, near Pine Street, in Wyandanch when it collided with a westbound 2010 Lexus and overturned at 9 p.m., police said.

The driver of the Murano ran away from the crash and has yet to be apprehended, police said.

Saige, of Wyandanch, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where she was initially listed in critical condition. She died from her injuries Monday, Suffolk police said.

The baby's 24-year-old mother, a passenger in the Murano, was taken to Good Sam for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Lexus, a 42-year-old Wyandanch woman, sustained minor injuries, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555.
