The Suffolk County Organization for the Promotion of Education (SCOPE) has named Jeannine Gryn and Stacy Cahill, special education teachers at North Babylonβs Marion G. Vedder Elementary School, as recipients of the 2012 SCOPE Awards of Educational Excellence for Teaching.
These two members of the North Babylon school community were among a group of educators, support staff and volunteers from throughout Suffolk County that were honored at the SCOPE Educational Excellence Awards ceremony held recently at Villa Lombardiβs in Holbrook.
This year, the North Babylon School District implemented two new special education programs that service incoming kindergarten students with complex needs, including cerebral palsy and Downβs syndrome. Working cooperatively, the two teachers provide their students with the educational, physical and social support needed for success.Β
