2 NBHS Staff Members Test Positive For COVID-19 This Week
According to state data, there are a total of 17 positive cases reported within the school district as of Wednesday.
NORTH BABYLON, NY β Two North Babylon High School staff members recently tested positive for coronavirus, school officials announced on Wednesday.
According to a letter from Superintendent Glen Eschbach, the two cases were unrelated and both had limited contact with students.
However, the district worked on contact tracing efforts Wednesday morning and will inform any students who need to quarantine.

The students who might have come in contact with the employees who tested positive are on Cohort A, which will not effect the students attending in-person classes on Thursday which is a Cohort B day.
The staff members who tested positive have already begun quarantine.

"Following guidance issued by the New York State Education Department and Suffolk County Department of Health, the space utilized by these employees has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected," Eschbach wrote in the letter. "We are in constant contact with the Suffolk County Department of Health and will continue to follow all necessary protocols and guidance given to us to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff."
According to the New York State COVID-19 Report Card, there are a total of 17 positive cases within the North Babylon School District as of Wednesday. Ten staff members reported positive cases at the high school, one student at Belmont Elementary School, two students and two employees at Robert Moses Middle School, and two students at Woods Road Elementary School.
