Babylon Joins Sheriff’s Office For Car Seat Inspections

Free car seat safety inspections will be offered again June 5 at the Amityville Fire House.

Town of Babylon Councilman and Public Safety Chairman Terence McSweeney, Councilman DuWayne Gregory and Town Clerk Gerry Compitello recently partnered with Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon’s office for free car seat safety inspections at the North Babylon Fire Department. Suffolk County Legislator and firefighter Tom Donnelly was also in attendance.

Studies show that three out of four car seats are used incorrectly, a contributing factor in automobile accidents being the leading cause of death in young children. Those in attendance were shown the correct way to strap their children in to ensure their safety. The program will be offered again on Saturday, June 5 at the Amityville Fire House.
