Coastal Flood Advisory Issued For Northern Nassau

The National Weather Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for northern Nassau County. The advisory will be in effect from 10 p.m. Thursday until 1 a.m. Friday.

High tides more than a foot above normal may lead to minor coastal flooding of the most vulnerable shore roads and basements.

A few road closures may be needed, but there's a low threat of any property damage, the NWS says.

Thursday- Rain and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 61. East wind 13 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Thursday Night- Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 53. East wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday- Showers likely, mainly before 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
