Deer Park Class of 2013 Salutatorian: Jordan Rios

No. 2 - Jordan Rios

Jordan is an outstanding student with several remarkable qualities. In addition to his extraordinary intelligence, he is a calm, thoughtful, creative and influential person. Jordan not only loves to learn but also applies what he has learned outside the classroom. He is a respectful leader who is able to connect, teach and inspire those around him. His leadership positions include Fall Play Director, school newspaper editor, Drum Captain for Marching Band and Wind Ensemble and Chief Sound Engineer for all school productions. He is a member of several honor societies including the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Tri M Music Honor Society. Jordan also participates in Stage Crew, Baroque Band, Academic Team, Science Olympiads and Jazz Ensemble.  

He is an AP Scholar with Distinction and was recognized by NYSSMA for his outstanding drum play. Jordan has become an outstanding student, musician and leader by combining his innate abilities with an extraordinary work ethic.
