DEER PARK, NY - Dollar Tree will be shutting down one of their Long Island stores this month. The Deer Park location for the discount store chain on 550 Commack Road is scheduled to close by mid-January according to Kayleigh M. Painter, a spokesperson for the company.

There are currently 50 Dollar Tree stores on Long Island with two more set to open in Riverhead and Lawrence this year, Newsday reports.

"We occasionally close stores for a variety of reasons, including sale of the property, end of a lease term, etc.," Painter wrote in a statement.
