Deer Park Man To Be Charged With Murder In Wife's Killing: PD

Suffolk police said Paul Bonny fatally shot his wife, Cathiana, then turned the gun on himself.

DEER PARK, NY β€” A Deer Park man accused of fatally shooting his wife before turning the gun on himself will be charged with second-degree murder, Suffolk police announced Monday.

Earlier this month, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man and woman with gunshot wounds inside an Eastwood Avenue home. Officers found 34-year-old Paul Bonny and his wife, 35-year-old Cathiana Bonny, with gunshot wounds. Their two children, ages 12 and 6, were inside a car in the driveway of the home at the time of the shooting. Both children were unharmed.

Detectives determined Paul Bonny shot his wife then shot himself, police said. He was hospitalized in serious condition and remained hospitalized Monday. Police said he will be arraigned on the murder charge at the hospital.
