Duo Caught Drag Racing In Deer Park: Police
The 19-year-old and 21-year-old were arrested after speed racing Tuesday night, according to Suffolk police.
DEER PARK, NY β Two men were arrested for drag racing in Deer Park Tuesday night, according to Suffolk police.
In response to numerous community complaints, officers conducted an undercover drag racing investigation at E. Industry Court and Saxwood Street where they saw a 2020 Honda Civic driven by 19-year-old Anthony Rodriguez, of Central Islip, racing a 2017 Honda Civic driven by 21-year-old Kevin James, of Islip, at 10:30 p.m., police said.
Police arrested the two men and seized their cars under Suffolk County Law for being involved in an illegal speed contest.

Rodriguez was charged with unlawful speed contest and reckless driving. He was also issued several traffic violations. James was charged with unlawful speed Contest, reckless driving and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He was also issued several traffic violations.
Both men are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
