First and Second Graders Deliver Christmas Pageant at Saints Cyril and Methodius

SSCM School Students bring the Nativity to life at Christmas Mass

Wide-eyed angels and sceptered shepherds from Saints Cyril and Methodius School in Deer Park gifted parishioners with a special School Mass just before the Christmas break. The assembly was complete with donkeys, camels, sheep, the Three Wise Men, Joseph, Mother Mary, and Baby Jesus. First and second grade students treated the congregation to songs, prayer, poems and a reenactment of the Nativity Story. With a homily focused on how Jesus is the reason for the season, young and old alike attending the Mass felt a little closer to the true spirit of Christmas. Many thanks to the students and teachers who worked tirelessly at putting together this special school Mass. The students proclaimed the Word in such a vibrant and spirited manner. And to the parishioners of Saints Cyril and Methodius, a note of thanks for so graciously opening your hearts to our school children, who delight in bringing the liturgy to life at SSCM’s 8:30 weekday Masses.
