Forever Running Race-The Late Raymond Downey, Memorial Race

Yesterday, was the official Kick Off; for the "Forever Running Race"; honoring the Memory of Deer Park's very own; the Late Raymond Downey; Deputy Chief, SOC, NYC Fire Department. D.C. Downey; perished in the 9-11 attacks and with his service; his family and our community still paying respect in his memory by taking care of our Health and Fitness. The Virtual sign-up is from Sunday. June 13, 2021 through Sunday June 27, 2021. The Race Sponsors; are providing First Come-First Serve T-Shirt to those who register online. The Late Raymond Downey, was noted as someone who was "Forever Running"-in his contributions as a Fire Fighter and within his Civilian Life within Deer Park. In addition to his service to NYFD; Downey was a Long Time Member of the Knights of Columbus; who provide youth sports to neighborhood children. Check out KOC offerings. Masks are down now; smell the air and get back into life by; Forever Running and to grab every moment that one can to set impact.

On June 13th, 2021; the Late Raymond Downey Memorial Race kicked off on its race course route. What a great way to get back to connecting with your neighbors and in participating; you're supporting a good cause. The Downey Family is still involved in the D.C. Raymond M. Scholarship/Charity Fund; and participation allows us; as a Community to encourage awareness of the Needs of attributed to 9-11 attacks.

Today; I took charge and Biked the Raymond Downey Race route; it's an awesome way for those with mobility limitations to be included in this Years-2021 Race. Everyone's invited and take careful observation of younger cyclists out there on Raymond Downey Memorial Road aka Nicolls Road-Deer Park, NY-as participants are social distancing from time for start gate to Race Completion.
