Former Pathmark To Be Taken Over By 3 New Businesses
A supermarket, a gym and a storage facility will be moving in at the site of the former Pathmark in North Babylon.

NORTH BABYLON, NY - Three new businesses will officially be taking over the site of the former Pathmark supermarket in North Babylon, a Babylon Town official confirmed.
The 90,000-square-foot shopping center on 1251 Deer Park Avenue will soon be home to a new Aldi supermarket, a Planet Fitness gym and a CubeSmart self storage facility.
The Pathmark shut down in 2015 following the announcement that their parent company, Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., filed for bankruptcy in 2012.

Now the next step for the tenants before opening the businesses will be to get their building permits before construction can begin.
Real estate developer Basser-Kaufman drew up plans for the site back in March.

The McDonald's located in the plaza will remain. There are still some spaces available for lease.
