Funeral Friday For N. Babylon NYPD Cop
Lindenhurst Village officials warn of heavy traffic on Wellwood Ave. around Our Lady of Perpetual Help as Joseph Pritchard is laid to rest.

Significant traffic and parking congestion is expected in the area aroundΒ Our Lady of Perpetual Help ChurchΒ in Lindenhurst on Friday for the funeral of North Babylon resident Joseph Pritchard.
Pritchard, 30, was the NYPD officer and Lindenhurst High School graduate who was killed in a crash on the Long Island Expressway on Monday.
Plus, parts of Wellwood Avenue will be closed on Friday morning due to the funeral services for the fallen officer.

"We'll be shutting down Wellwood Avenue between Hoffman Avenue and Gates Avenue from approximately 9 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m.," Mayor Tom Brennan advised residents on Tuesday.
A blessing is being held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Lindenhurst. Interment will follow at Breslau Cemetery on North Monroe Avenue in Lindenhurst.

No other roads will be shut down along the way to Breslau Cemetary, the mayor said.
