Gunman Invades Deer Park Home
A woman opened the side door of her home to retrieve a package from a man whom she thought was a legitimate delivery driver.
DEER PARK, NY β Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in Deer Park Monday morning.
According to Suffolk police, a woman opened the side door of her Nicolls Road home at about 9:55 a.m. to retrieve a package from a man whom she thought was a legitimate delivery driver.
The man, who was armed with a handgun, forced his way into the home and stole cash and checks.

The woman, her husband and a home health aide were inside the home at the time. No one was injured.
Police say the thief was carrying a box, but not wearing a uniform.

No arrests have been made. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this case to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
